Connecting Hubris to your Hubspot Hub

When you create a new Hubris account, there are a few different steps you need to complete before you can start to add your LinkedIn connections to HubSpot.

Don't worry, though - you'll find the whole process documented below and we'll also send you some helpful emails as you go.

Finally, feel free to contact our support at any time and we'll do our best to solve any problems you have.

Step 1: Connect Hubris to HubSpot using your Hub ID and API key

Once you've downloaded the Hubris extension and registered an account, you'll receive an email asking you to activate your account and grant permission for Hubris to add and change information in HubSpot.

To do this, software providers like Hubspot provide a handy mechanism that enables systems to talk to each other securely. To do this, a special code called an API key is required.

Once you've fond your API key, it can be entered into the Hubris Admin Panel along with your Hub ID. The API Key will be long and complex (it's essentially a very big password) so you will need to cut and paste it.

Once you have made this connection, Hubris will be able to talk to your Hubspot account.

Please be aware that Hubris won't be able to add LinkedIn connections to HubSpot at this point - you still need to complete the steps below!

Step 2: Set up the custom contact properties required by Hubris

Once you’ve connected Hubris to HubSpot, there are a couple of steps you need to take to configure your account.

Most importantly, you need to set up two new custom properties (and property mappings) so our extension correctly syncs your LinkedIn data with HubSpot and vice versa.

Hubris requires two single-line text contact properties called:

  • hubris_linkedin_profile_URL
  • hubris_linkedin_profile_ID

Find out how to set up the custom contact properties required by Hubris here.

Step 3: Set up your contact property mappings in Hubris

Next, log into the Hubris admin panel and go to Mappings.

You’ll find a list of all the fields Hubris can capture from a LinkedIn contact or company page, as well as the corresponding contact and company properties in HubSpot. Find out more here.

Once you’re done, you should now be able to sync contact and company data with LinkedIn, as well as create new contacts and companies directly from within LinkedIn.
