How to add LinkedIn contacts to HubSpot

If you work in sales and marketing, or any other role in business, you are probably looking for some contacts on LinkedIn. As a HubSpot user, you may want to get those contacts into the database so that you can identify leads and track your current sales activities.

Below are some of the methods that you can use to add LinkedIn contacts to HubSpot:

Create and update new contacts manually in HubSpot

This is the most time-consuming method, and it is also prone to errors.  It is, however, one of the most commonly used methods. To use this method, you must first log into HubSpot, and on the default marketing board, you will see a tab located at the top left-hand corner called “Contacts”. 


The contact button will show you the list of the current contacts that you have on your database. The contact page has a “create contact” button; by clicking this, you can add contact information from your LinkedIn account manually.

Manually export your LinkedIn contacts using the “Download your data” settings on LinkedIn

LinkedIn allows you to import data so that you can back it up. You export your data in the form of a .csv file, which includes the following data:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Title
  • Company

Click the “My Network” icon located at the top of your LinkedIn page, followed by “Your Connections Number” on the left, then click on “Manage Synced” and “Imported Contacts” on the top right. Under the advanced options, click “Export Contacts”

When you log into HubSpot, there is a button located on the left side of “Create Contact” that says “Import”. This allows you to import contacts from a spreadsheet file that you have saved on your computer.


Use a LinkedIn scraping tool

You can use a LinkedIn scraping tool to capture your LinkedIn connections and then manually import them into HubSpot. LinkedIn scraping has made it possible for any end user to harness analytic tools that were once reserved for developers.
